Barolo Falletto DOCG Piedmont 0.75L

The Barolo Falletto from Bruno Giacosa is one of those wines that you don't discuss for long in Piedmont — you open them. Pure Nebbiolo from the Falletto site in the heart of Serralunga d'Alba, one of the most uncompromising soils in the entire appellation.

Bruno Giacosa is one of the defining names in Barolo history. His winery in Neive stood for decades for classic vinification, long aging, and the principle that great wine is created in the vineyard. The Falletto site on the calcareous soil of Serralunga delivers Nebbiolo with a pronounced structure: dense tannins, high acidity, a framework that needs and gives depth.

In the glass, the wine shows the typical language of ripe Nebbiolo from Serralunga: dried cherry, violets, tar, and a hint of tobacco and licorice. The tannins are firm and fine-grained, the acidity carries the wine through a long, spicy finish.

Pairs with braised beef roast, game ragù over pappardelle, or mature Parmigiano Reggiano. Drinking temperature: 17–18 °C. Decant at least two hours beforehand.
