Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC 2023

Barbera is one of the defining grape varieties of Piedmont — and the Superiore from Tre Pile shows why this grape has experienced a real renaissance since the 1980s. New cellar techniques and the targeted use of wooden barrels have turned a once underestimated variety into a structured, characterful red wine.

In the glass, the 2023 glows dark ruby red. On the nose, ripe plum and black cherry, plus vanilla and a hint of cinnamon — an aroma profile that promises depth and warmth at the same time. On the palate, juicy, with an acidity that appears well-integrated and gives the wine freshness without stinging. The tannin structure is soft but clearly defined — not a soft flatterer, but a wine with attitude and a long finish.

On the table, it goes well with braised beef, stuffed peppers, or aged cheese. Serve it at 15 °C.
