Artemis

The Artemis from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is a Napa-Cabernet that shows the classic signature of the house: structured but approachable, with the typical elegance of the Stag's Leap District AVA.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars made wine history in 1976 when their Cabernet Sauvignon beat out the French competition at the Paris Wine Awards. The winery is located in the eastern part of Napa Valley, where volcanic soils and cool evening breezes from San Pablo Bay contribute to wines with depth and crisp acidity. Artemis is the entry point into the winery's Cabernet Sauvignon program—not a compromise, but a distinct style.

In the glass, it displays dark blackberry, blackcurrant, and a hint of cedar. Aging in oak barrels brings notes of mocha and dark chocolate without overpowering the fruit. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated, and the acidity keeps the wine lively. Medium-long, spicy finish.

Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. Drinking window: now until 2029. Pairs well with grilled ribeye, leg of lamb with rosemary or aged cheddar.
