Alamos Malbec

Alamos Malbec
A classic Malbec from Mendoza that shows why Argentina has made this grape variety its own: dark fruity, full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a depth that goes far beyond the price.
Alamos belongs to the Catena Zapata group – one of the leading forces in Argentine winemaking. The grapes come from the highlands of Mendoza, where cool nights preserve the acidity and intense sunshine ensures optimal aromatic ripeness. Hand-harvesting is standard practice here, not just a marketing claim. The result is berries with a concentrated fruit profile and a refreshing structure.
In the glass, a deep ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, the wine opens with blackberry and cassis, followed by violets, a hint of leather, and dried herbs. On the palate, it is full-bodied but not heavy: the tannins are round and well-integrated, the acidity provides structure without being harsh. The finish is long, dark-fruited, with a subtle hint of spice.
- Dishes: Grilled beef, leg of lamb with rosemary, empanadas or aged Manchego cheese
- Serve at 16–18 °C – if it gets too warm, it loses its freshness.
- Drinking window: Ready to drink now, will easily keep for another 2-3 years.
- Occasion: An uncomplicated everyday wine with real character – good for a midweek barbecue or as an introduction to the world of Malbec.
