Alamos Malbec

Alamos Malbec
A classic Malbec from Mendoza that shows why Argentina has made this grape variety its own: dark-fruited, full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a depth that far exceeds its price.
Alamos belongs to the Catena Zapata group – one of the defining forces of Argentine viticulture. The grapes come from the high altitudes of Mendoza, where cool nights preserve acidity and intense hours of sunshine ensure aromatic ripeness. Hand-harvesting is standard here, not a marketing promise. The result is berries with a concentrated fruit profile and a fresh structure at the same time.
Deep ruby red in the glass with violet reflections. On the nose, the wine opens with blackberry and cassis, followed by violets, a hint of leather, and dried herbs. On the palate, it is full-bodied but not heavy: the tannins are round and well-integrated, the acidity gives the wine support without being sharp. The finish is long, dark-fruited, with a light spicy note.
- Food: Grilled beef, leg of lamb with rosemary, empanadas, or aged Manchego
- Temperature: Serve at 16–18 °C – it loses its freshness if too warm
- Occasion: Uncomplicated everyday wine with real character – good for a barbecue evening during the week or as an introduction to the world of Malbec
