Al Limite Chianti Classico
The Al Limite vineyard of San Leonino grows in the climatic border region between Florence and Siena – one of the most demanding zones of the Chianti Classico DOCG. The name refers to this borderline location: optimal, but challenging.
Aged for 18 months in 30-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels and concrete tanks, this Sangiovese shines ruby red in the glass and offers a profound aromatic profile: ripe cherry, menthol tobacco, violets, and a hint of rhubarb. On the palate, it is silky smooth with spicy and mineral notes that maintain the tension through to the long finish. The tannins are present but refined.
Falstaff rated the 2017 vintage with 92 points , and the Berlin Wine Trophy awarded it gold.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, venison ragù, or aged Pecorino cheese. A red wine that's perfect for any occasion!

From Farm to Modern Craftsmanship: As its history reveals, San Leonino was founded on an independent and self-sufficient feudal farm. The estate produced everything the community living there needed. Over the years, this aspect of the independent farm has continued into modern times, making it a small, niche winery for the Bertani Domains group, where limited wine production is prioritized with artisanal care and attention.
