Absente 0.7L

Absente is an absinthe liqueur from Provence with a mild profile: anise and peppermint define the taste. It is therefore more accessible than many classic absinthes.

It is produced by Distilleries et Domaines de Provence. The base is wormwood (Latin: Absinthium), which gives the "green fairy" its reputation. In France, absinthe was banned for almost 70 years. Since its rediscovery, Absente has been considered the most famous absinthe liqueur in the world. It contains up to 10 mg/l of thujone, the maximum permitted level for liqueurs.

In the glass, anise leads, accompanied by a cool peppermint note; the expression remains soft. Classically, you drink it with water on ice: the water dilutes it and allows the herbal aromas to emerge more clearly. As an ingredient in cocktails, it brings in anise and mint, which combine well with citrus or sparkling wine. A liqueur for a convivial evening and for anyone who wants to get to know absinthe in a mild way first.

Distilleries et Domaines de Provence

Distilleries et Domaines de Provence has been distilling the soul of Provence into a bottle since 1898 – and you can feel it with the first sip.

In picturesque Forcalquier, high up in the Haute-Provence, thyme, wormwood, and verbena grow wild and untamed. Here, they are harvested by hand and distilled using traditional methods. The result: spirits that smell of garrigue, summer, and craftsmanship.
Their most famous creation is the Henri Bardouin – a Pastis Grand Cru that has garnered acclaim far beyond the borders of Provence. They also produce the botanical Gin XII , fruity aperitifs such as the peach wine Rinquinquin , and aromatic liqueurs like Farigoule .
