About Rising Brands

From the exclusive brands department to Importer of the Year

Rising Brands is based in Nuremberg and works as a general importer for international spirits brands on the German market. The company is a subsidiary of GES eG. It emerged from the exclusive brands department of the Bremer Spirituosen Contor, which is still involved as a sales and logistics partner today.

In 2026, Rising Brands was named Spirits Importer of the Year at the Meininger's International Spirits Award. Behind this are 17 gold medals and four special awards for products from seven brands in the portfolio. They range from Scotch and Irish whiskey to rum and cognac to tequila and liqueurs.

Building brands over years, not just distributing

Rising Brands sees itself as a long-term partner for brands that want to grow in the German market. The portfolio is put together deliberately, and the cooperation with the producers is close. The brands are developed together with the beverage retail trade, gastronomy, and e-commerce. Through GES eG, there is a network of more than 800 specialist retail partners behind it.

The approach is also evident at trade fairs. For InterWhisky 2025, the team brought four masterclasses with speakers from Finland, Ireland, and Scotland. In addition, there was a new edition of “Timo's ultimate whisky world tour” with Timo Lambrecht, who holds the title Keeper of the Quaich.

Islay smoke, Irish Pot Still, and an aperitivo from blood oranges

The assortment is internationally positioned. From Douglas Laing comes the Big Peat, awarded as Scotch Whisky Blended Malt of the Year in 2026. From Drogheda near Dublin come The Whistler and the Boann Single Pot Still Series, for which Rising Brands has taken over exclusive import since April 2025. These include the rum spirits and liqueurs from Malecon as well as Cognac Frapin, which the house has been importing exclusively since May 2026.

With Solrosa Aperitivo, Rising Brands also carries a private label. The base is a macerate of Sicilian blood oranges from the Catania and Siracusa regions. The peels are peeled by hand after the harvest and set with water and alcohol. Bergamot, lemon, and ginger bring freshness; rhubarb, gentian, and cinchona bark provide depth and a tart bitter note. The aperitivo has 15% vol. and, according to the manufacturer, contains no artificial flavors.

In the glass, fruity blood orange meets herbal notes and a slightly bitter finish. It works classically as a spritz with Prosecco and a dash of soda. With tonic water, ice, and half a slice of blood orange, it becomes a simple long drink.

Rising Brands –
Spirit import with attitude and craftsmanship

Rising Brands was spun off in 2023 as an independent importer from the exclusive brand division of Bremer Spirituosen Contor GmbH and is based in Nuremberg. The company is part of the GES network and works with over 800 specialist retail partners – a structure that allows for short distances between the distillery and the glass.

The focus is on spirits that do not end up on supermarket shelves: artisanally produced gins like Bobby's from the Netherlands, whiskies from Douglas Laing from Scotland, the fruity-bitter Solrosa Aperitivo, or a classic Licellino Limoncello. Every product in the portfolio stands for a concrete origin, a distillery with history, and a style that stands out from the mainstream.

Rising Brands sees itself as a curator, not a mass importer. Collaboration with gastronomy, bars, and restaurants sharpens the view of what really works in the glass – and what does not. What you find here has already passed this filter.
