Welcome to the Elgin Plateau, one of the most exciting and coolest wine regions in South Africa! Located about 70 kilometers southeast of Cape Town, on a high plateau between 250 and 400 meters, wines are created here that will surprise you with their elegance and finesse.

For a long time, Elgin was known for its apple orchards – but resourceful winemakers discovered the enormous potential of this cool region for first-class wines. The lower temperatures, frequent fog, and fertile soils create ideal conditions for elegant Pinot Noirs, lively Sauvignon Blancs, and crisp Chardonnays. Here, wines with a European style and South African soul are born.

Particularly exciting: Many wineries focus on biodynamic cultivation. The winemakers here work with respect for nature and use the cool climate for slowly ripening grapes with complex aromas and lively freshness.
