Domaine Thomas et Fils

Domaine Thomas et Fils embodies everything that makes Sancerre so irresistible: mineral freshness, vibrant fruit – and a family that has known for generations how to bring out the best expression of the Loire Valley.

Since 2005, Julien Thomas has run the winery in Chaudoux, which his father Jean established. On 16 hectares , five cuvées are produced – white, red, and rosé – entirely without chemical treatment. Zero. The vines are allowed to be vines, the fruit is allowed to speak for itself.

The result: Sancerre that not only tastes like a textbook, but like a real place.

Domaine Thomas et Fils –
Sancerre with character from Chaudoux

Domaine Thomas et Fils is located in Chaudoux, one of the quiet corners of the Sancerre appellation, where the soils alternate between limestone and flint, and the Loire Valley has its own rhythm. Jean Thomas established the winery, and since 2005 his son Julien has managed the 16 hectares – with the same conviction, but with a distinct approach: no synthetic pesticides, no herbicides, no compromises in the vineyard.

These vineyards produce five cuvées – Sauvignon Blanc in various expressions, along with Pinot Noir as a red and rosé. What unites them is a precision that can be felt in the glass: the typical minerality of Sancerre , but with a vibrancy that goes beyond the textbook. Citrus zest, white peach, a salty finish – and always, behind it all, the specific place from which they come.

Those who understand Sancerre not as a brand, but as a place of origin, will find exactly that at Thomas et Fils: expertly crafted wines that go well with goat cheese from the Loire, river trout or a simple evening with good bread.
