Creation Wines is located in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus, one of the coolest wine regions in South Africa. The oceanic location, influenced by Atlantic winds and the barren slate and sandstone soils, gives the wines a freshness and structure rarely found in warmer South African wine regions.

The winery was founded by Jean-Claude Martin and his wife Carolyn, who have consistently adapted their European winemaking expertise to the South African context. Their focus is on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – varieties that fully express their strengths in these soils and climates. The wines are crafted with meticulous care in the cellar: gentle hand-harvesting, controlled fermentation, and targeted oak aging without over-emphasis.

What distinguishes Creation is the combination of technical precision and a clear sense of terroir. The wines are approachable without being superficial – possessing the depth that cool vineyard sites and experienced winemakers create together.
