Château Smith Haut Lafite

Château Smith Haut Lafitte – a name that stands for wines in the Graves region south of Bordeaux that make their origin palpable.

The 87-hectare vineyard lies like a green island amidst forests and hedgerows. The typical pebbles of the Graves region – the so-called Graves Gunziennes – store the sun's warmth and give the wines their unmistakable character: the white wines subtly smoky, the red wines smooth and complex.

The Cathiard family works here according to a clear conviction: respect for nature is not a trend, but a fundamental principle. They have their own vine nursery, horse-drawn plow, compost from the vineyard – and beehives to maintain the balance.
