Carpano didn't just shape vermouth – the Turin-based company invented it in 1786. In his bottega on Piazza Castello, Antonio Benedetto Carpano first blended white wine with wormwood, spices, and sweetener to create a drink that would forever change the aperitif culture of Europe. Today, almost 240 years later, the same principles are still applied in Turin : select herbs, precise recipes, and no shortcuts.
Carpano Antica Formula is the heart of the range – a dark red vermouth with a velvety-smooth vanilla note, dried fruit, and a long, spicy finish. It's just as convincing neat on ice as it is as the base for a Manhattan. Punt e Mes follows a different logic: one point of sweetness, half a point of bitterness – this is the formula that gave this cuvée its name. In a Negroni or Spritz, it brings an edgy depth that milder vermouths can't achieve.
