Terrazas de los Andes – wine from the high altitudes of the Argentinian Andes. At elevations between 900 and over 1,400 meters, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes thrive under intense sunshine, cooled by cold mountain winds. The idea: the higher the vineyard, the cooler the climate – the more vibrant the wine. Fresh fruit, fine structure, true depth. What makes Terrazas special? The respect for the altitude. Each vineyard brings its own unique character. The result: wines that showcase Argentina – powerful, warming, surprisingly fresh.

About Bodegas Terrazas

Terrazas de los Andes —
High-altitude wines from the Argentine Andes

Terrazas de los Andes grows its wines on one of the most unusual stages in the wine world: the slopes of the Argentine Andes, at altitudes between 900 and over 1,400 meters. In Mendoza, the combination of intense high-altitude sun and cold mountain winds ensures grapes with distinct ripeness and at the same time lively acidity — a balance that is hard to achieve in the lowlands.

The winery follows a simple but consistent principle: every vineyard at a different altitude brings its own character. The Malbec from the lower sites shows dark berry fruit and a velvety texture; the higher the vines are, the finer the structure becomes, and the cooler and more precise the style. Cabernet Sauvignon thrives on the middle terraces and develops a depth there that is reminiscent of classic Bordeaux structures without adopting their heaviness.

The wines from Terrazas de los Andes are an honest reflection of this landscape — powerful and warming like the Andean region itself, but with a freshness that surprises. Anyone who has previously associated Argentine wine primarily with fullness will find another side of the country here.
