It was towards the end of the 1980s when the Belasco family decided to further their ambitions in winemaking and purchased Bodegas Marco Real. Bodegas Marco Real is located in the town of Olite, which belongs to Navarre and was once the seat of the kings of Navarre during the Reconquista. The Royal Palace (Palacio Real de Olite) in Olite still testifies to the town's former glory. In 2000, the Belasco family acquired an additional 200 hectares of vineyards in Navarre and then another 50 hectares in Toro (Castilla y León).

about Marco Real Homenaje Rosado

Bodegas Marco Real —
family winery in the heart of Navarre

Bodegas Marco Real is based in Olite, a town in the heart of Navarre that once served as the residence of the kings of Navarre. The medieval Palacio Real de Olite still towers over the vineyards today — a silent reminder of the long history of this area. At the end of the 1980s, the Belasco family bought the winery and made it the basis for their ambition to seriously advance the quality of Navarrese wines.

In the year 2000, the family significantly expanded their vineyard portfolio: 200 hectares were added in Navarre, and another 50 hectares in Toro (Castilla y León) — a region known for its powerful, profound red wines made from Tinta de Toro. This geographical breadth is reflected in the range: from accessible everyday wines to aged Reservas that show the potential of the Navarrese soils.

What distinguishes the wines of Marco Real is the combination of regional roots and family ambition. The Belascos cultivate their sites with the goal of clearly depicting the character of the respective origin in the glass — without over-processing, with respect for the terroir.
