Betz Family Winery –
Craftsmanship and Depth from the Columbia Valley

Bob Betz is one of the most renowned winemakers in the Pacific Northwest: a Master of Wine, he spent decades at Château Ste. Michelle, and since 1997, together with his wife Cathy, he has founded the Betz Family Winery in Woodinville, Washington. What began as a side project is now one of the most respected small wineries in the Pacific Northwest – with consistently limited production and a clear focus on quality over volume.

The grapes come from select vineyards in the Columbia Valley, where a continental climate, long sunny days, and cool nights ensure slow ripening and pronounced aromatics. Betz works with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Rhône varieties, which he vinifies in small batches – traditionally vinified, with barrel aging that provides structure without masking the fruit.

The wines of Betz Family Winery are characterized by dark berry fruit, subtle spice, and a long, mineral finish. For those wanting to discover Washington State beyond the major wineries, this is one of the most compelling starting points.
