Wiston Blanc de Blancs Brut NV

A sparkling wine made exclusively from Chardonnay from the South Downs in West Sussex — one of the few English sites that can draw genuine climatic and geological parallels to Champagne. Wiston Estate is situated on chalky soil, which gives the wine its characteristic minerality.

In the glass, the Blanc de Blancs shows vibrant aromas of green apple, grapefruit and lemon zest, complemented by white flowers and a hint of kumquat. On the palate, a fine flinty minerality is accompanied by a light pastry note. The finish is fresh, clear and long — typical for Chardonnay on chalk.

Best served between 8 and 10 °C. As an aperitif, with raw oysters, scallops or a classic lobster salad. For those who are not yet familiar with English sparkling wine, this is a convincing introduction to a region that is increasingly speaking for itself.
