Wirz handcrafted Gin

A homemade gin from the Wirz Wine & Spirits Center – distilled in small batches, with a clear focus on classic and floral botanicals.

Wirz Handcrafted Gin is not the product of an anonymous corporation, but rather a small, family-run business that combines wine trading and distilling under one roof. The gin is produced in limited quantities, allowing for a careful selection of ingredients: juniper, caraway, lavender, and cardamom form the aromatic foundation, while rose distillate and lime and lemon zest provide a floral, fresh note.

In the glass, it reveals itself as soft and well-integrated: juniper is clearly in the foreground, accompanied by lively citrus notes and a subtle hint of rose petal on the finish. No overpowering alcohol, no harsh finish – a balanced style that appeals to both gin novices and more experienced drinkers.

The floral aromas are most pronounced when served neat over ice. For a G&T, a mild tonic water with a cucumber or rose garnish is recommended to accentuate the rose distillate. It's also an obvious choice for a classic Gimlet – gin, lime juice, and simple syrup.

Wein & Spirituosen Center Wirz

Albrecht Wirz is a winemaker from the Mosel and a trained cellar master – someone who doesn't just sell wine, but knows it from the ground up.

In his Wine & Spirits Center in Berlin-Tegel, you get the feeling of visiting an old acquaintance who always has a good recommendation ready. Besides fine wines, you will find a passionately curated selection of whiskies, rums, gins, and distillates here – collected from Scotland, Ireland, Italy, and beyond.

Not a coincidence, but the result of real travels and real curiosity. Anyone who wants to can simply drop by Brunowstraße 17 – and taste right on the spot.
