Whispering Angel Rose Cotes de Provence 1.5L Magnum

Whispering Angel is the rosé that has shaped the image of Provence in millions of glasses — and it truly comes into its own in the 1.5-liter magnum.

Château d'Esclans lies in the hills of the Côtes de Provence between Draguignan and Fréjus. Patrick Léon, former head winemaker of Mouton Rothschild, has consistently focused the estate on quality rosé since its acquisition by Sacha Lichine—a category that was hardly taken seriously at the time. Whispering Angel is the estate's entry-level wine, but it is vinified with the same high standards: temperature control, no barriques, and short maceration to achieve its delicate salmon color.

In the glass, a pale salmon pink. On the nose, strawberry, white peach, and wild rose, with a light floral veil. On the palate, lean and lively, with fine minerality, well-integrated acidity, and a finish with a hint of grapefruit. Not a wine for long discussions—direct, fresh, and harmonious.

The magnum bottle matures more slowly than the standard bottle and retains its freshness longer. Serving temperature 8–10 °C. Pairs well with grilled shrimp, burrata with tomatoes, light pasta dishes with lemon, or simply as an aperitif outdoors — enough for six to eight glasses without refilling.

Chateau d'Esclans

Château d'Esclans – a castle winery in a state of suspended animation until Sacha Lichine arrived in 2006. The son of Bordeaux legend Alexis Lichine had grand ambitions: to produce the best rosés in the world. With oenologist Patrick Léon at his side, he focused on 80-year-old Grenache vines, calcareous and clay soils, and state-of-the-art cellar technology. The result? Rosé on a new level. Provence as it can be – powerful, elegant, and unmistakable.
