Walcher Bombardino — anyone who has ever stood at the bar of a South Tyrolean mountain hut after a long day of skiing knows this moment: a steaming cup, the sweet aroma of egg, cream, and alcohol, and the comforting feeling that the day is about to get really good. The Walcher estate distillery brings this exact experience to your home.
Bombardino is based on a classic recipe from Trentino-South Tyrol: a full-bodied liqueur made with egg, cream, and select distillates, already mixed and bottled ready to drink. For generations, the Walcher distillery has stood for meticulous craftsmanship and authentic Alpine recipes—no mass-produced industrial flavor, but genuine tradition from the heart of South Tyrol.
The preparation is incredibly simple:
- Pour 20 cl of Bombardino with 40 cl of hot milk.
- Add a shot of rum if desired.
- to finish with a generous dollop of whipped cream
It brings après-ski atmosphere into the living room — and enhances every mulled wine evening, every winter party, and every New Year's Eve celebration. Walcher Bombardino also shines when served neat over ice or as a base for creamy dessert cocktails.
Nine generations, one passion: The Walcher family has been distilling spirits in Eppan, South Tyrol , since 1966, transforming sun-ripened fruit from their own orchards into exceptional grappas, brandies, and liqueurs. What makes it so special? The fruit literally grows on their doorstep – amidst picturesque vineyards and fertile orchards, shaped by the mild South Tyrolean climate.
From this deep connection to nature come distillates that you can taste: pure, aromatic, with genuine character. In 2019, the gourmet food manufactory in Kaltern was added – a place where the finest vinegars and delicacies perfectly complement the passion for spirits.
