Villa Sparina is an established winery in Monferrato, the hilly heart of Piedmont between Asti and Alessandria. Barbera is no minor role here — it is the classic everyday grape of the region, cultivated on these soils for generations and treated by the best producers with the same respect as the great Nebbiolo wines.

In the glass, the wine glows in deep ruby red. The nose shows aromas of dark cherry and blackberry, plus a slightly spicy note. On the palate, the lively acidity typical of Barbera carries the wine — the tannins remain lean, the finish fresh and clean.

A red wine for the table, not for the display case. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs with pasta al ragù, grilled sausages, salami from Piedmont, or a young Pecorino. It also makes a good impression on a long evening with antipasti.
