Van Hunks Brut Cap Classique

A South African sparkling wine with the soul of a classic Brut: The Van Hunks Cap Classique from Stellenbosch is produced using the traditional bottle fermentation method — the same method that gives Champagne its depth, but here with the character of the Cape.

Stellenbosch, one of South Africa's most renowned wine regions, provides the foundation for this single-varietal Chardonnay: cool nights that sharpen the acid structure and sufficient sun to develop fruit. Van Hunks stands for accessible, artisanally solid wines from the Western Cape — no frills, with a clear style.

The glass reveals green apple, citrus zest and a hint of white flowers. On the palate, precise acidity, a smooth texture, fine lively perlage and notes of pome fruit. The finish is clean and stimulating, with a classic Brut conclusion.

Serve well chilled at 7–9 °C as an aperitif, with oysters, pan-fried zander or a light goat cheese.
