Tenuta San Michele Pinot Nero IGT

Pinot Nero from Mount Etna: The Tenuta San Michele from Murgo combines the elegance of the Burgundy grape with the mineral imprint of the volcano. A red wine for everyone who knows Pinot Noir and would like to try it from Sicily.

The grapes grow in the vineyards of Tenuta San Michele on Mount Etna at an altitude of around 500 meters, on volcanic soils. The altitude brings freshness, the subsoil structure. The wine consists of 100% Pinot Nero and is classified as Terre Siciliane IGT. The vinification aims to preserve the aromatics of the grape variety and make the origin palpable.

In the glass, it glows ruby red. On the nose, cherry and red berries meet rose, plus pepper and licorice. On the palate, it appears elegant and mineral, with fine tannins and a lingering finish.

Serve it at about 16 °C. It goes well with duck breast, braised rabbit, mushroom risotto, or medium-mature Pecorino.
