Tarón Tempranillo Blanco Barrel Aged DOCa Rioja Alta 0.75L
Tempranillo Blanco is a natural mutation of the red Tempranillo grape, discovered in Rioja only in the 1980s and since then consistently developed further by a few wineries. Bodegas Tarón from Rioja Alta is one of these pioneers and demonstrates with this barrel-aged wine what the grape variety can achieve when aged in oak.
In the glass, the wine presents itself as straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, citrus and light stone fruit—peach, apricot—combine with floral nuances and subtle toasty aromas from the barrel aging. On the palate, it is dry, with lively acidity and a body that has gained richness from the oak contact without masking the fruit. The finish is warm and slightly spicy.
Best served at 10–12 °C . Pairs well with grilled sea bass, herbed chicken breast, or a young Manchego cheese. Also a good choice as a standalone white wine as an aperitif for those who only know Rioja as a red.
