Pinotage

Pinotage is polarizing — those who have experienced it as heavy and smoky are surprised by what Stellenrust makes of it: an approachable, characterful red wine with real fruit depth.

The Stellenrust winery is located in Stellenbosch, where two of the Cape's most famous vineyards meet: the volcanic Helderberg and the clay-rich Bottelary . Both contribute grapes with distinct characters to this Pinotage, which were aged together in barriques – this explains the complexity in the glass.

Dark ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose , blackberry, plum, and mulberry , along with a hint of caramel and gentle wood that frames the fruit without overpowering it. On the palate, full-bodied, with soft tannins and a pleasantly long finish.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb, beef ribs, or a hearty beef stew . Also a great choice with spicy burgers. Drink now or cellar for another 2–3 years.
