Sori Tildin Barbaresco DOP

Spicy, dense and with an earthy pull: The Sorì Tildìn is a Barbaresco that makes an unusually striking impression with cardamom and anise.

Gaja is one of the most famous family wineries in Piedmont and has been at home in Barbaresco since 1859. In the Piedmontese dialect, the name Sorì refers to a sun-exposed hillside. The wine comes from Piedmont and is vinified dry.

In the glass, it shows an intense, sparkling garnet red. Cardamom and anise are at the forefront of the nose, followed by ripe plum and blackberry. On the palate, it feels dense and rich, the tannin has grip, and there are earthy nuances. The dark berry fruit carries it through to the finish.

Serve it at 16–18 °C and open the bottle in good time beforehand or give it a splash of air in the decanter. It goes with braised beef, tajarin with white truffle or long-aged hard cheese.
