Shavkapito QW Georgia 0.75L

Shavkapito is one of Georgia's oldest indigenous grape varieties — rare, almost forgotten, and rediscovered in recent years by a handful of wineries. Château Mukhrani, one of the country's most significant wineries with roots in the 19th century, grows the variety in the Kartli Valley east of Tbilisi and shows what it is capable of.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red. The nose brings ripe cherry and pomegranate, plus a slightly earthy, spicy depth that is typical for Georgian red wines. Dry on the palate, with a noticeable but not aggressive tannin structure and a long, slightly tart finish.

It pairs well with hearty dishes: grilled lamb, beef stews, or the Georgian classic Mtsvadi. It also cuts a fine figure with aged hard cheeses. Drinking temperature: 16–18 °C.
