Selezione 50 Anni Friulano & Ribolla Gialla DOC Friuli-Venezia Giulia 0.75L

An anniversary cuvée with a clear origin: Livon created this wine for the winery's 50th anniversary, combining two of the most characteristic indigenous grape varieties of Friuli — Friulano and Ribolla Gialla. Both come from the Collio and the Colli Orientali, the hilly locations in northeastern Italy on the border with Slovenia, where calcareous flysch soils and the interplay of Adriatic breeze and alpine winds shape the aromatics of the white wines.

Livon has been managing vineyards in some of the most renowned appellations of Friuli since the 1960s. The Friulano brings body and a nutty, almond note, while the Ribolla Gialla contributes lively acidity and fresh citrus fruit. In the glass, the cuvée shows aromas of white peach, bitter almond, and a hint of herbs — the finish is long, slightly salty, and mineral.

It is best to drink this wine at 10–12 °C — with grilled sea bass, seafood risotto, or a young Pecorino. It also makes a good companion to Friulian antipasti, such as with Prosciutto di San Daniele.
