Seckinger Weißburgunder from limestone

A Pinot Blanc that bears its origin in its name: limestone noticeably shapes the texture and minerality of this dry Palatinate white wine from Seckinger, right through to the finish.

The Seckinger winery in the Palatinate region works with indigenous yeasts and relies on reductive vinification—an approach that protects the fruit and emphasizes freshness. The limestone soil provides the characteristic firmness that distinguishes this wine from those grown on heavier loess soils.

In the glass, aromas of green apple peel, herbs, and yeast emerge. The palate is lean and firm, with lively acidity and a mineral finish with a slight astringency—typical of limestone vineyards. Not a sumptuous, creamy Burgundy, but a racy, dry wine with backbone.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled fish, goat cheese, or a salad with herb dressing. Also a solid choice as a nibbler on an aperitif. Drinking window: now until 2027.
