Scharffenberger Brut Excellence Californian Quality Sparkling Wine 0.75L

A Californian sparkling wine that shows what the Anderson Valley can do: cool coastal climate that allows Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to ripen slowly and gives them a freshness rarely found in warmer parts of California.

Scharffenberger Cellars works in Mendocino County using the traditional bottle fermentation method — the same one used in Champagne. At least 24 months of yeast aging give the Brut Excellence its characteristic depth: on the nose, citrus zest, green apple, and a fine brioche tone derived from the long maturation on the lees. In the mouth, it feels taut and lively, with a clear line of acidity and a dry, slightly mineral finish.

Best served at 7–9 °C — as an aperitif, with seafood, pan-fried salmon, or a creamy risotto with Parmesan.
