Sancerre Domaine Thomas Le Perrier
Sancerre Domaine Thomas Le Perrier
A Sancerre that shows why the appellation is a benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc worldwide: clear structure, lively acidity, mineral pull.
Domaine Thomas et Fils manages sites around Sancerre in the upper Loire Valley, where Kimmeridgian limestone and silex soils give the Sauvignon Blanc its characteristic bite. The Le Perrier is one of these single-vineyard wines — named after one of the typical Sancerre lieux-dits with predominantly limestone subsoil.
In the glass, light gold. The nose shows lemon zest, white grapefruit, and a fine stone fruit tone, underneath the flint note typical of Sancerre, which is reminiscent of wet pebbles. On the palate, taut, invigorating acidity with a creamy middle section — not a sharp cut, but a smooth, long-lasting finish with lemony freshness.
- Temperature: 10–12 °C
- Food: Goat cheese (Crottin de Chavignol is a classic pairing), grilled monkfish, scallops with butter, or salad with vinaigrette

Domaine Thomas et Fils embodies everything that makes Sancerre so irresistible: mineral freshness, vibrant fruit – and a family that has known for generations how to bring out the best expression of the Loire Valley.
Since 2005, Julien Thomas has run the winery in Chaudoux, which his father Jean established. On 16 hectares , five cuvées are produced – white, red, and rosé – entirely without chemical treatment. Zero. The vines are allowed to be vines, the fruit is allowed to speak for itself.
The result: Sancerre that not only tastes like a textbook, but like a real place.
