Rothschild Escudo Rojo »Baronesa P.« - from 6 bottles in a wooden crate 0.75L

Petit Verdot from the Chilean Maipo Valley — this is a grape variety that usually only appears as a blending partner in its native Bordeaux, but here as a soloist, it shows what it is capable of. Baron Philippe de Rothschild, the house behind the legendary Mouton Rothschild, has deeply inscribed itself in the Maipo with the Escudo Rojo project. The »Baronesa P.« is the pinnacle of this line — named after the founder of the Rothschild line in Chile.

A deep ruby red with violet reflections glows in the glass. The nose is dense: black blueberry, black cherry, a hint of white pepper. Added to this are nuances of vanilla, caramel, and roasted hazelnut. On the palate, the Petit Verdot shows its typical structure — powerful but ripe tannins, a present acidity that gives the wine contour, and a long, spicy finish.

Serve it at 16–18 °C with pan-seared beef fillet, braised lamb shank, or aged Manchego. Those who buy the wine in the wooden crate also have the perfect setting for a gift that doesn't look like it came from a supermarket.
