Rondeur Appassimento 3L

A red wine for long evenings: The Rondeur Appassimento from the Languedoc uses the Appassimento method — part of the Grenache Noir grapes are dried before vinification, which concentrates the fruit and gives the wine a subtle residual sweetness that balances with its spicy origin.

Behind the wine is the La Grange winery, run by Renate and Rolf Freund since 2008. Director Nicolas de Saint-Exupéry—great-nephew of the writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry—and head winemaker Eric Thomas translate the character of the garrigue directly into the glass: rosemary, thyme, and lavender grow between the rows of vines and define the winery's style.

On the nose, blackcurrant, raisins, and a hint of rosemary and pepper. Soft on the palate, with raspberry and blueberry, before spicy herbal notes take over in the finish—round, warm, and lingering. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C.

It pairs perfectly with braised lamb with herbs de Provence, mature hard cheeses, or a hearty lentil stew. The 3-liter bottle is ideal for gatherings where one bottle simply wouldn't be enough.
