Ried Nussberg Preschnigg Morillon Grosse STK Ried - QW Südsteiermark 0.75L

A Morillon from Southern Styria that shows what this grape variety – better known as Chardonnay – can achieve on Styrian primary rock soils: depth instead of pleasantness, tension instead of flattery.

The Gross winery in Ratsch an der Weinstraße is one of the defining addresses in Southern Styria. For generations, the family has been managing its sites around Leutschach, including the Ried Nussberg Preschnigg – a single vineyard known for its mineral expressiveness. Großes STK-Ried stands for the highest classification level of the Steirische Terroir & Klassik Weingüter, comparable to a Burgundian Grand Cru.

In the glass, the wine opens with aromas of crispy farmhouse bread crust, hay flowers, and fully ripe stone fruits. With air, spicy, slightly salty-mineral notes are added – a clear fingerprint of the site. The finish is long, dry, and carried by a fine tension.

Best served at 12–14 °C. Pairs with veal sweetbreads, porcini mushroom risotto, or mature mountain cheese. Those who bring patience will be rewarded.
