Réserve Royale Goruli Mtsvane QW Georgia 0.75L

Goruli Mtsvane is one of the oldest autochthonous grape varieties in Georgia and is rarely found outside the Kartli region. Château Mukhrani, a historic winery near the capital Tbilisi, has dedicated itself to the revival of exactly such forgotten varieties — with European cellar standards and the ambition to bring the heritage of Georgian wine culture into the bottle. The Réserve Royale line represents the house's most ambitious cuvées.

In the glass, the Goruli Mtsvane shows a rich golden yellow. The nose is multi-layered: ripe yellow pear and quince compote form the core, joined by dried herbs, a hint of white peach, and a subtle floral note. On the palate, the wine appears dense and full-bodied without becoming heavy — a lively acidity keeps the fruit in motion and ensures balance. The tannins are noticeably present for a white wine, which can be attributed to the variety and the continental inland climate of Kartli. The finish is long, slightly spicy, and mineral with an aftertaste of beeswax and citrus zest.

This wine demands dishes with substance: grilled poultry, veal medallions with herb butter, stuffed peppers in the Georgian style, or hearty Khinkali with meat filling. Those who drink it solo should give it some time in the glass — it opens up with air. Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C.
