Qvevri Red QW Georgia 0.75L
A red wine that brings Georgia's oldest winemaking tradition into the bottle: The Qvevri Red from Château Mukhrani is aged according to the eponymous method in Qvevri — those clay jars buried in the ground that Georgian winemakers have been using for millennia.
Château Mukhrani is located in the Kartli Valley west of Tbilisi, one of the historically most significant wine regions of Georgia. The winery looks back on a history that reaches into the 19th century and is today one of the most famous addresses in the country. The Qvevri Red is based on Cabernet Sauvignon and shows a deep ruby red in the glass. On the nose, ripe dark berries — blackberry, black cherry — alongside dried herbs, tobacco, and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, the wine presents itself dry, with palpable structure and a spicy, lingering finish.
Served at 16–18 °C, it pairs well with grilled lamb, beef ragout, or spicy braised vegetables. Those who know Georgian cuisine will pair it with Chakapuli or Satsivi — it easily keeps up with strong flavors.
