Olio extra vergine Orcio Polpo

The Orcio Polpo from Muraglia comes from Apulia, the heart of Italian olive oil production, and consists purely of the Peranzana olive — an old local variety known for its balanced fruitiness. It is bottled in the characteristic clay jug with a hand-painted octopus motif, a trademark of the house of Muraglia.

In the glass, the oil shows medium fruitiness: green herbs, ripe tomato, and a gentle bitter tone in the finish — typical for the Peranzana, without the sharpness of some southern Italian varieties. The consistency is smooth, the finish clear and pleasant. Store in a cool, dark place; serve at room temperature. Ideal over grilled fish, with burrata, or as a finish on a pasta al pomodoro.
