Oberrotweil HENKENBERG Spätburgunder trocken GG

Oberrotweil HENKENBERG Spätburgunder trocken GG
The Henkenberg in Oberrotweil is one of the best sites on the Kaiserstuhl – volcanic weathered soil, steep exposure, plenty of warmth during the day and cool nights that bring structure and freshness to the grapes. A Pinot Noir that shows what this location is capable of.
On the nose, cool roasted and smoky notes, plus bright cherry, a hint of redcurrant, and fresh herbs. On the palate, fine-juicy and lively, with a firm body that remains delicate despite its power. The tannins are velvety, subtle wood spice in the background, slightly mouth-drying – the sign of a wine with substance. In the long finale, cherry fruit, ripe redcurrant, and roasted notes return.
Recommendations:
- Food: Roasted duck breast with roasted aromas, game ragout, ripe Epoisses or Tomme de Savoie
- Temperature: 16–18 °C, feel free to open an hour beforehand
