Monte Bamboli Cabernet Franc Toscana IGT 0.75L

A Cabernet Franc that shows what the Tuscan coast can extract from this grape variety: not a heavy southern wine, but a precise, cool profile with a clear structure. Petra cultivates its vineyards on Monte Bamboli on elevated sites near Suvereto, where the maritime climate ensures longer ripening times and distinct aromatics.

The Petra winery belongs to the Terra Moretti group and was founded in the late 1990s as an ambitious project in the Maremma. The high altitude of Monte Bamboli brings cooler nights than the flat coastal land — a decisive advantage for Cabernet Franc, which needs freshness to unfold its full aromatic potential.

In the glass, it shows dark cherry, pomegranate, and a characteristic hint of bell pepper and herbs, as is typical for Cabernet Franc. This is accompanied by floral notes of violets, medium tannins with good texture, and a long, slightly mineral finish.

Pairs well with lamb chops with rosemary, wild boar salami, or a ripe Pecorino Toscano. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Also a good choice as a companion to Tuscan ribollita.
