Mea Culpa Vino Rosso - Magnum in a gift box 1.5L

A cuvée created out of a clear conviction: Mario Minini from the Mea Culpa winery wanted to combine the best locations of his harvests in a single wine — regardless of where they are located. The result is an Appassimento red wine based on Primitivo, which works with dried grapes from a 40 to 50-year-old Alberello vineyard in the Apulian Salento. About 35% of the grapes are dried for 30 days, losing about 30% of their weight — this concentrates sugar, aromas, and structure significantly. A maceration of eight to nine days before fermentation ensures depth and extraction without creating harsh tannins.

In the glass, the Mea Culpa Vino Rosso shows ripe cherry and blackberry, complemented by strawberry and a hint of tobacco. Fine vanilla and mocha notes give the wine warmth, the acidity remains lively. On the palate, it appears round, with soft tannins and an elegant body — the finish brings back tobacco and vanilla once more. Produced as semi-dry, it remains easy to drink despite its fullness.

The magnum bottle in a gift box makes it a harmonious gift for evenings when an ordinary 0.75-liter bottle would be empty too quickly. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. At the table, it pairs with braised beef, game ragù, aged Pecorino, or dark chocolate.

Mea Culpa

Minini – Lombard roots, Apulian passion. The family has been dedicated to viticulture since the 20s. In Apulia-Salento, Mario Minini created Mea Culpa – the attempt to create the "perfect wine".

The idea: combine grapes from Sicily and Apulia. About 35 percent are subjected to the appassimento process – 30 days of air drying, a third weight loss. Then the wine matures for six to seven months in French oak.

The result: elegant, modern wines of high quality that hold their own on the international market. Today popular worldwide. Apulia, as it tastes.
