Marsala Superiore dello Sbarco DOC

Marsala Superiore is an oxidatively aged fortified wine from the western tip of Sicily — amber-colored, sweet, with a depth that arises from two years of oak barrel aging. The cuvée of Cataratto, Grillo, and Inzolia follows the classic school of the Lombardo house, one of the oldest Marsala wineries in the city.

The label commemorates the landing of Garibaldi in 1860 in the port of Marsala — a historic moment that still shapes the region today. The wine itself carries this character: dense texture, aromas of dried figs, walnut, and tobacco, a long, slightly nutty finish. 18% ABV, serving temperature 12–14 °C.

Classically as an accompaniment to almond and pistachio pastries, cannoli, or a cheese platter with spicy pecorino. Served neat in a small glass, it also works as a digestif after a Sicilian dinner — or as a base for an authentic vitello tonnato.
