Les Sentinelles Macon rouge AOC

Les Sentinelles Macon rouge AOC
A Gamay from southern Burgundy, which draws its strength from the granite-rich slopes of the Mâconnais – approachable, fruity and easy to drink.
The Vignerons des Terres Secrètes are a winegrowers' cooperative in the Mâconnais region, cultivating vineyards between the Saône plain and the foothills of Beaujolais. The granitic soils southwest of Mâcon give the Gamay a mineral foundation that clearly distinguishes it from heavier red wines further north.
In the glass , Les Sentinelles Mâcon Rouge displays aromas of blackberry, red currant, and a hint of cassis. The body is medium-bodied, the tannins soft – typical of Gamay grown on granite soils. The finish is fresh and pleasantly short.
Best enjoyed young, ideally within two to three years. Serving temperature 14–16 °C. Pairs well with charcuterie, grilled chicken legs, or a casual dinner with friends.
In southern Burgundy, where the Solutré rock rises dramatically from the vineyards, the Vignerons des Terres Secrètes guard a well-kept secret: the exceptional terroirs of the Mâconnais.
As the only cooperative located directly within the Grand Site Solutré-Pouilly-Vergisson, they know every slope, every soil, every plot – some of them barely larger than a garden. It is precisely where location, vine age, and craftsmanship converge that wines are created that capture the very best of the Mâconnais in a bottle: round, vibrant, aromatically complex – and yet surprisingly approachable.
