Les Fumées Blanches Reserva Sauvignon Blanc

The Sauvignon Blanc grapes for Lurton's white "Les Fumées Blanches" are harvested at optimal ripeness in the cool early morning hours and immediately transported to the winery to prevent any oxidation. There, they undergo an initial eight to twelve hours of maceration (without contact with air) and are then very gently pressed in pneumatic presses. After a cool fermentation at 16 to 18 °C in stainless steel tanks, the wines remain on their fine lees for several months to develop even more subtle richness and structure before being carefully racked. Following rigorous tasting of each batch, the wines are blended to create the final blend and then promptly bottled. François Lurton uses screw-top bottles for Les Fumées Blanches to preserve the wines' pristine fruit and freshness to the fullest extent. Colour: pale, glossy straw yellow with greenish reflections. Aroma: fresh, fragrant bouquet with a harmonious interplay of juicy citrus fruit aromas (grapefruit, orange peel), notes of white flowers, grass and delicate exotic hints. Taste: fruity, elegant and very well balanced on the palate, clearly structured, fresh and lively with juicy Sauvignon aromas of candied lemons, grapefruit and boxwood.

François Lurton

François Lurton is one of those winemakers who see borders not as an obstacle, but as an invitation. The Frenchman produces wine in three countries: France, Spain, and Argentina . And everywhere he has the same goal: wines that truly tell the story of their origin.

In the Languedoc, he cultivates Mas Janeil , where old vines and Mediterranean soils produce wines with distinctive character. With Les Fumées Blanches, Lurton also demonstrates how fresh and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc can be – when given the right space.

No uniform style, no formula – just genuine terroir wines with character. Exactly what we at Vinoscout appreciate.
