Le Serre Nuove Dell'Ornellaia 1er GP Bolgheri Rosso DOC 0.75L

Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is the big brother in spirit: more accessible than the flagship Ornellaia, but with the same DNA from the Bolgheri sites on the Tuscan coast. The cuvée combines Cabernet Franc with the other Bordeaux grape varieties of the estate and shows why Bolgheri has been one of the most exciting red wine destinations in Italy since the 1970s.

In the glass, deep ruby red with a violet shimmer. On the nose, ripe cherries and dark forest berries, plus a hint of clove and cedar wood. On the palate, the Cabernet Franc component shows its characteristic freshness and fine herbal line — graphite, tobacco, a touch of lavender. The tannins are present but well-integrated, the finish long and spicy.

Best served at 16–18 °C. Pairs with Tuscan Bistecca, leg of lamb with rosemary, or aged Pecorino. Those who decant the wine give it time to open up completely — an hour in the decanter is worth it.
