Le Macioche Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

Le Macioche Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Brunello di Montalcino needs time — and Le Macioche gives it. After 30 months of barrel aging, this Sangiovese Grosso shows what the hilly landscape south of Siena can produce.
The Le Macioche winery is located in the heart of Montalcino, one of Italy's most prestigious red wine appellations. The DOCG regulations are strict: a minimum of two years in oak barrels and a total of five years of aging before release. Le Macioche adheres to these regulations—and the wine visibly benefits.
In the glass, it shines a rich ruby red. The nose offers dried cherry and plum, along with earthy undertones, a hint of juniper, and white musk. On the palate, it is juicy and well-structured, with silky tannins that leave no harshness. The finish is long and spicy.
- Dishes: Florentine bistecca, braised leg of lamb, mature Pecorino di Pienza
- Temperature: 17–18 °C, open at least one hour beforehand
- Drinking window: now until 2032
