Lasón Merlot Riserva Alto Adige DOC 0.75L

The Lasón Merlot Riserva from Alto Adige shows what South Tyrolean Merlot can achieve at the level of a Riserva: a dense, ruby red glass with a bouquet that immediately signals depth.

Kellerei Kaltern is one of the most traditional cooperatives in South Tyrol and manages sites around Lake Kaltern, where the Mediterranean climate and alpine nights ensure fruit ripeness and freshness at the same time. Merlot finds ideal conditions here – the warm days bring melt, the cool nights preserve the structure.

On the nose, the Lasón opens with ripe blackberries and sour cherry, plus a fine licorice note that gives the wine a spicy depth. On the palate, dry, with a velvety body and well-integrated tannins – not an edgy red wine, but one with melt and length. The finish remains pleasantly long with a slightly mineral note.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C Pairs with braised beef, wild ragù on pappardelle, or a ripe Pecorino Stagionato.
