Lasón Merlot Riserva Alto Adige DOC 0.75L

The Lasón Merlot Riserva from Alto Adige shows what South Tyrolean Merlot can achieve at the Riserva level: a dense, ruby-red glass with a bouquet that immediately signals depth.

The Kaltern winery is one of South Tyrol's most traditional cooperatives, cultivating vineyards around Lake Kaltern, where the Mediterranean climate and alpine nights ensure both fruit ripeness and freshness. Merlot finds ideal conditions here – the warm days bring richness, while the cool nights preserve its structure.

On the nose, the Lasón opens with ripe blackberries and sour cherries, accompanied by a delicate note of licorice that lends the wine a spicy depth. On the palate, it is dry, with a velvety body and well-integrated tannins – not an angular red wine, but one with a smooth texture and length. The finish is pleasantly long with a slightly mineral note.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C , drinking window until 2028. Pairs well with braised beef, venison ragù on pappardelle or a mature Pecorino Stagionato.
