La Roggia Recioto della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 0.5L

Sweet, dense, and warm: This Recioto della Valpolicella Classico shows what can arise from dried Corvina grapes. It belongs to the classic dessert wines of Northern Italy and comes in a handy 0.5-liter bottle.

Speri Viticoltori cultivates vines in the Valpolicella Classico in the Veneto. The grapes for this wine come from the La Roggia vineyard; the best of the vineyard are selected. Before vinification, they dry for 110 days, during which sugar and aromas concentrate. The grape variety is Corvina Veronese.

In the glass, it appears garnet red. Dried grapes, violets, and jam dominate on the nose. On the palate, it appears warm and velvety, the sweet fullness remaining rich in finesse.

Recommendation: Serve it at 14 to 16 °C with dark chocolate, Gorgonzola, or almond cookies. It also works without accompaniment as the conclusion to a convivial evening.

The Winery

Speri Viticoltori

Sometimes all it takes is a family secret passed down through seven generations. That's exactly what you'll experience at Speri Viticoltori in the heart of Valpolicella. Since 1874, the family has dedicated themselves to winemaking with passion and vision – today with 60 hectares of vineyards and an impressive philosophy: only their own grapes, only organic farming, and only native grape varieties such as Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara.

Their masterpiece? The Amarone Sant'Urbano , which, after 24 months of aging in oak barrels, impresses with its elegance and depth. But the Ripasso , with its spicy aromas of clove and cinnamon, is also an experience. These wines aren't loud, they whisper – and that's precisely what makes them so special.
