L´Ormarins Brut Classique Rosé

A dry rosé sparkling wine from the Cape: The L'Ormarins Brut Classique Rosé focuses on clear fruit, lively acidity, and fine yeast notes instead of heaviness. It makes the start as an aperitif and also holds its own at the table.

It is a Méthode Cap Classique. That is the name in South Africa for sparkling wine that is produced according to the traditional method with bottle fermentation, i.e., according to the same principle as Champagne. The L'Ormarins winery is located in the Western Cape, the center of South African viticulture and the home of the Cap Classique tradition. Chardonnay is specified as the grape variety.

In the glass, you will find sorbet and red berries, plus a fine biscuit note that tells of yeast contact. The acidity is lively, the structure clear, the taste dry. The finish remains long and fresh.

Serve it at 6 to 8 °C as an aperitif or for a convivial evening. At the table, it pairs well with salmon tartare, fried prawns, sushi, or a light dessert with strawberries.

L’ Ormarins

L'Ormarins is located in the Franschhoek Valley of the Western Cape – founded on the legacy of the French Huguenot Jean Roi, whose hometown of Lourmarin in Provence gave the estate its name. Today, L'Ormarins belongs to the Anthonij Rupert portfolio and combines a remarkable range: Cap Classique according to the Méthode Champenoise from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, a natural brandy from the traditional Armagnac alambic, eau de vie, as well as a Chenin Blanc from 56-year-old bush vines that were transplanted from the Paardeberg to the estate's north-facing granite sites. In addition, there is honey and olive oil directly from the estate.
