Kupe Pinot Noir

New Zealand has established itself as a serious producer of Pinot Noir – and the Kupe shows why: dark-fruited, structured, with a depth that goes far beyond pleasing lightness.

The South Island, whether Marlborough or Central Otago, with its long sunny days and cold nights, provides precisely the slow ripening that Pinot Noir needs: fruit concentration and freshness simultaneously. The nose offers black cherry and ripe plum, followed by raspberry compote, a hint of black pepper, and delicate floral notes. On the palate, velvety tannins with structure, an opulent texture, and fruit that carries the entire sip. The finish is long and spicy.

Best served at 16–18 °C – if opened fresh, give it 20 to 30 minutes in a decanter. It pairs well with duck breast with cherry sauce, herb-crusted rack of lamb, or a mature Tomme. It's also delicious on its own in the evening, when the fruit flavors slowly unfold in the glass.
